The Tennessee Department of Corrections will save nearly $1 million in energy costs

The Tennessee Department of Corrections will save nearly $1 million in utility cost savings with the help of a sustainable energy solutions integrator. In 2017, Centrica Business Solutions, part of Centrica plc, was awarded a three-year contract in a government-funded project to update old lighting and save water in three facilities: the Lois M. DeBerry Special Needs Facility in Nashville, Northeast Correctional Complex near Mountain City, and Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville. The three-year contract resulted in replacing the old lighting fixtures with LED lamps, drivers and chipsets. More than 1,300 toilets, showers, sinks, urinals and combination water valves were replaced with I-CON water conservation valves at the DeBerry location, according to the release. Total annual savings are predicted to be $907,109, according to the release
