Archie Brummit
Archie Brummit, fire chief for the city of Clinton, has retired after 44 years as a firefighter. Brummit joined the Clinton Fire Department in 1978 as a firefighter, rising to the rank of captain in 1986 and chief in 1996. Under his leadership, the department’s staff has increased, more than 8 new vehicles have been purchased for the department, the department headquarters has been renovated, and the city’s ISO rating has gone from a 4 to a 2.
