Tennessee maintains record-low unemployment in April

State unemployment remained at historic low in April, the second month of record-breaking low unemployment in Tennessee. The state’s 3.2% seasonally adjusted unemployment is 1.6% lower than it was this same time last year and 12.7% below the record-high of 15.9% reported in April 2020. Tennessee also had a new high number of workers in the state’s workforce with 3,388,426 Tennesseans on the job. Unemployment across the nation also remained unchanged in April at 3.6%. One year ago, the national rate came in at 6%.
