Jeff Lewis
Jeff Lewis, chief of the Dickson Police Department, has retired after more than 35 years of service to the city. During his tenure with the city, Lewis served not only in the police department but also as interim director of the city’s Parks and Recreation Department and interim director of the city’s Public Works Department. The son of a Dickson Police Department officer, Lewis joined the force as a patrol officer in 1988 and became the first Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) officer in the department in 1990. As a captain in the department, he was also instrumental in the creation of the department’s Law Enforcement Explorer Post. Lewis was named acting chief of the department in 2017 and later confirmed as the full-time chief later that year.
