DRA announces $17M in new SEDAP funding

The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) has announced funding availability for the States’ Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP), which supports economic and community development needs throughout the Mississippi River Delta and Alabama Black Belt regions.

Approximately $17 million is available to address basic public and transportation infrastructure, as well as workforce and business development needs for communities within the DRA region. Funding for this program was made available, in part, by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law signed by President Biden—a key part of his Investing in America agenda to grow local economies from the middle out and bottom up and to create more resilient and healthier communities across the country.

“The States’ Economic Development Assistance Program is one of DRA’s most diverse tools to help strengthen economic development and address the underlying challenges that impact our region, including in some of the most persistently impoverished areas of the United States,” said Federal Co-Chairman, Dr. Corey Wiggins. “These investments will help address these challenges and build safer, connected and more resilient communities across DRA’s footprint.”
