Jim Colvin
Jim Colvin has been selected as the chief of police for the city of Brentwood and will take over from current Chief Richard Hickey following his retirement in February 2025. Colvin presently serves as the assistant police chief for the city of Brentwood and will serve as the fifth chief of police for the city. Colvin has been with BPD since December 2004 and has served as a patrol sergeant, detective, patrol lieutenant, and captain in the past 20 years. He has served as assistant chief since 2022. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a master’s degree in emergency management from Jacksonville State University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
