Mike Palazzolo

Germantown Mayor Mike Palazzolo will step down from the role in December, announcing he does not intend to seek re-election. Palazzolo first served as an alderman from 2004 to 2014, during which time he also served as vice mayor. After his election as mayor in 2014, he oversaw numerous milestones in the city’s history, including the presentation of the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award to the city. He was selected as TML’s Mayor of the Year in 2023. A resident of Germantown in 1977, served as an economics and government teacher in the former Memphis City Schools, spent 23 years in commercial and corporate banking, and a decade as a senior development officer. He has also served on boards with the Germantown Area of Commerce, Mid-South Development District Board, West Tennessee Mayor’s Association, Mid-South Council of Mayors, Shelby County Suburban Mayors Council, Shelby County Joint Economic and Community Development Board, and on the Tennessee Municipal League’s Board of Directors.
