A year-long, $9.9 million renovation and revitalization project has concluded in Clinton’s downtown historic district. The project replaced more than 100-year-old infrastructure in the area as well as adding wider sidewalks, new landscaping, wall seating, repaving roadways, and updating utilities. The goal was to create a more pedestrian-friendly downtown to encourage more visitors, business, and growth. Historic Downtown Clinton has also secured additional grants for continued improvements such as speakers on downtown lampposts.
