East Ridge cuts ribbon on Camp Jordan fishing bridge
East Ridge officials cut the ribbon on a boardwalk and fishing pond aimed at making fishing at Dickert Pond at Camp Jordan more accessible to all. The $250,000 wooden dock was installed through a grant from the American Water Charitable Foundation and is designed to accommodate both wheelchairs and walkers. The city has partnered with American Water in the past for its river rescue and cleanup programs. Dickert Pond was created three decades ago when East Ridge built the Camp Jordan arena and is stocked yearly by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The ribbon cutting coincided with a youth fishing tournament held by the Optimist Club.
