Morristown receives GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

Morristown has been recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and were selected to receive the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its Fiscal Year 2026 Budget. The award represents a significant achievement by the city. It reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, the City had to satisfy national guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity's budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device. This is the 15th consecutive time that the City of Morristown has received this award.
