A former funeral home will serve as the location of a new history museum in the city of Loudon. The former McGill-Karnes Funeral Home on Wharf Street was acquired by the Loudon Legacy Foundation as the new base of the Loudon Legacy Museum, which includes collections formerly on display by the city. The 1905 building will house these items and other area artifacts that preserve the history and story of Loudon. On the National Register of Historic Places, the museum has already begun collecting historic artifacts, photographs, documents, and family histories. A projected opening date is slated for next year.
