Columbia receives GFOA Triple Crown Medallion
The city of Columbia is pleased to announce it has received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Triple Crown Medallion for receiving all three GFOA awards possible for exceptional budgeting and financial reporting. Columbia is one of only two municipalities in Tennessee to receive the Triple Crown Medallion. The Triple Crown Medallion recognizes that the city of Columbia received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Award (CAFR), the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, and the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award (PAFR). The city was awarded the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020. The City’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Popular Annual Financial Report are prepared following the end of each fiscal year under the guidance of the Assistant City Manager/Finance Director/City Recorder Thad Jablonski.
For the 22nd year, the City was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020. The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is an audited comprehensive financial statement that details the financial health of the city. In addition, the City was awarded the Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020, for the 3rd consecutive year. The PAFR is a summarized report prepared specifically to help citizens better understand the City’s audited financial statements. The GFOA recognizes the City’s Finance Departments' narrative style and graphic appeal in helping the community navigate the City’s financial and organizational operations.
