Richard Hickey
Richard Hickey has been selected as the new chief of the Brentwood Police Department, following the retirement of Chief Jeff Hughes after 36 years with the city. Hickey is the fourth chief of police since the department as founded in 1971. He has been with the city of Brentwood since 1991 and celebrated 30 years with the city last year. During his career, Hickey has served as a patrol officer, field training officer, crime scene technician, investigator, detective, lieutenant, captain, and most recently as the department’s assistant chief. Hickey received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Middle Tennessee State University and is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
