Tullahoma honored for community support of Arnold AFB

Arnold AFB

The city of Tullahoma has been recognized along with four other communities as one of the 2022 Great American Defense Communities during the Defense Communities National Summit in Washington, D.C. The city was honored for its support of Arnold Air Force Base, the only active-duty Air Force base in the state of Tennessee. Arnold AFB and the Arnold Engineering Development Center have contributed to the development of practically every one of the nation's top priority aerospace programs. The current National Defense Strategy has multiple objectives that require the support of AEDC ranges, test facilities, and a skilled workforce knowledgeable in hypersonic flight, directed energy, and the needs of next generation aircraft. The city partners with the base and other community organizations to improve the lives of airmen, veterans, guard, and reserve members and their families as well as AED complex volunteers.
