Columbia receives GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for fifth year
The city of Columbia has received the the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 2021-2022 budget, the fifth year the city has received the honor. Assistant City Manager/Finance Director Thad Jablonski credited the city’s finance department, city council, management team, and city personnel with the award. The City of Columbia Finance Department was presented with a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation for being primarily responsible for having achieved the award. There are over 1,700 participants in the Budget Awards Program. The most recent Budget Award recipients, along with their corresponding budget documents, are posted quarterly on GFOA's website at https://www.gfoa.org/budget-award. Award recipients strive to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other local governments.
