Darek Baskin has been named the new director of engineering for the city of Brentwood after serving as the interim head of the department. Baskin took over the role from Lori Lange, who joined the Tennessee Department of Transportation as its assistant chief of engineering. Baskin joined the city of Brentwood as a city engineer in October 2007. Prior to that, he served as a project engineer for Powers Hill Design in Memphis and spent seven years as the city engineer and director of planning and economic development for the city of Memphis. Baskin holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Memphis.
