Cpt. Kelly Owen
Cpt. Kelly Owen has retired after 30 years in the Dickson Police Department. Owen began his career at the department in 1994, graduating from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy that same year. He served as a patrol officer for six years then was promoted to patrol corporal in 2000. He then became a field training officer and served with the Special Response Team from 1996 to 2014. He became a detective with the Criminal Investigations Division in 2005 and was a field agent with the Drug Task Force in 2006 to 2008. He then served as a detective from 2008 to 2020 and then was promoted to lieutenant. In 2021 Owen was honored with a promotion to Captain of the Patrol Division, a position that had him overseeing the largest division of the police department from 2021, and right up to his retirement.
