Madisonville opens splash pad, playground at downtown park

Officials with the city of Madisonville cut the ribbon on the new playground and splash pad at Houston Park. The improvements to the downtown park were made possible through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant funds. The new playground and splash pad are a welcome addition to the park, which already includes a basketball court, lighted walking trail, and two pavilions. The grant funds were also able to provide public wifi, a stage and speaker system for community events, renovations to the Old City Hall, an announcement system for the courthouse, and a movie screen for outdoor events.
