'Area Development' ranks Tennessee third in business

Tennessee was recently named the No. 3 state for doing business by Area Development off the heels of the state being rated the eighth-best state for business by CNBC in July. Ranking Tennessee just behind Georgia and South Carolina, Area Development also ranked  Tennessee in the top three in multiple categories, including No. 1 rankings in Site Readiness Programs and Energy Availability & Costs. The magazine’s rankings were based on 14 categories that impact companies’ location and facility plans, such as such as availability of skilled labor, state and local incentives, availability of sites, climate risk and resilience, and proximity to suppliers.
