Mark King

Mark King, assistant chief of administration for the Collierville Fire Department, has announced his retirement after more than 40 years of service. King began his career as a paramedic with Medic Ambulance of Memphis in 1982. He joined the Collierville Fire Department in 1984 as their first paramedic, briefly leaving to work with the Germantown Fire Department before returning to Collierville in 1986. He served as CFD’s medical director and is responsible for the current ALS (Advanced Life Support) engine companies, and the addition of the Ambulance transport service. He has served as administrative chief since 2005 and in 2024 served as president of the Mid-South Fire Chiefs Association.
