Charles McCrary

Charles McCrary, former police chief for the Mt. Juliet Police Department, died April 25, 2025, at the age of 87. McCrary joined the Mt. Juliet Police Department in 1976 and became the second chief of police in the city’s history. Prior to joining the department, he began his law enforcement career as a deputy with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department in 1973 and became the first officer in Wilson County to earn the certified law enforcement officer credential the following year. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division. Upon his retirement, he had 29 years of service in law enforcement.
