Julie Brackenbery

Julie Brackenbury, former member of the Gallatin City Council and longtime community journalist, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the age of 58. She served four years on the Gallatin City Council as an at-large member from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, Brackenberry was well-known for her work in local media and community organizations. She served as an advertising consultant for The Tennessean, as publisher of The Gallatin Newspaper, and In 2008, Brackenbury also helped launch The Hendersonville Standard in addition to years of service as a graphic designer. She also worked as a volunteer with numerous Sumner County organizations include Historic Downtown Gallatin, Inc.; Historic Rose Mont; Sumner County Relay for Life; and Homeward Bound Sumner County.
