Tony Buchanan

Tony Buchanan has been selected as the new chief of police by the Erwin Board of Mayor and Alderman. Buchanan has been serving as the interim chief of the Erwin Police Department since June 2025. He served for four years in the U.S. Air Force before joining the Erwin Police Department in 2001. He began as a school resource officer for Unicoi County High School and also served as an investigator with the department.
