The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is working with the city of Winchester to improve access to Tims Ford Lake at Winchester City Park as part of the Bill Dance Signature Lake Program (BDSL). A new 60-foot-wide boat ramp is presently open for use with renovations nearing completion on courtesy docks and bank armoring. Goals for the project include improving access for outdoor recreations and economic development. Winchester Park offers walking/jogging trails, tennis courts, outdoor and indoor public pavilions, boat launch ramp to Tims Ford Lake, two handicapped accessible fishing piers, children's playgrounds, frisbee golf and camping facilities. It also houses the Tims Ford Bass Club and a fully equipped staging area for outdoor performances.
