Matt Slagle
Matt Slagle has been selected as the new city manager of Bristol from a pool of 52 applicants submitted nationwide. Slagle has been serving as a councilmember since October 2025 when he was appointed to the east district seat vacated by the departure of former mayor Mark Hutton. His appointment was intended to run through November of this year. A Bristol native who has spent three years on the Sullivan County Commission, Slagle has also served on the city’s planning commission, beer board, and health and educational facilities board. He studied logistics and supply chain management at Tennessee Technological University and served as the president of Flextech Solutions, LLC.
