Tennessee unemployment dips in June 2026

Tennessee’s unemployment rate dipped to 3.5% in June, matching its lowest point of the year. Data from the the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) put the June rate at one-tenth of a percentage point down from the previous month and unchanged from its year-over-year month from June 2025. Tennessee’s unemployment rate still remains below the national rate of 4.2%. Tennessee employers added 2,500 jobs between May and June 2026 with the biggest increases in private education and health services, durable goods manufacturing, and professional, scientific, and technical services added 25,300 nonfarm jobs between June 2025 and June 2026.
