Sarah Childress

Sarah Childress has been named the first executive director of the newly created Office of Entertainment for the city of Nashville. The newly established office will work to support Nashville’s creative community and serve as a liaison to the mayor’s office. Childress experience in film, TV, advertising, music, public media, academic, and community education. She comes to the position from WNPT where she has served as director of strategy and operations for the past three years. Prior to that, she was the first education and engagement manager for the Nashville Film Festival. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Emory University and a master’s in English with a concentration in cinema studies as well as a doctorate in English with a concentration in cinema and media arts, both from Vanderbilt University.
