Ashland City grant to improve recreation, walkability

Ashland City has received a $138,300 grant from the Tennessee Department of Health that will support connectivity, accessibility, and quality of life for residents. The funds will be used to provide new amenities and enhancements at the J.W. Johns Park. Additionally, they will be used to support future sidewalk and crosswalk improvements on Jefferson, Vine Mulberry, and Main streets, giving more accessibility to the park. The grant funds are part of the Healthier and Safer Community Initiative, which invested in projects that promote safer walking routes and greater access to community health resources like parks.
