Chris Shaffer
Chris Shaffer, city administrator for Lawrenceburg, has retired after 30 years of government service. Shaffer was appointed city administrator in 2012. Prior to that, he worked for 15 years as a police officer with the Lawrenceburg Police Department, serving first as a patrolman and then as a sergeant. During his tenure with LPD, Shaffer earned his law degree from the Nashville School of Law. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. In addition to his work as city administrator, Shaffer serves on the Lawrenceburg Federal Board of Directors and operates his own legal practice. Lawrenceburg Mayor Blake Lay will serve as interim city administrator while the city and University of Tennessee Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) conduct the search for a new city administrator.
