The Town of Collierville has been recognized for the 33rd consecutive year by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for excellence in financial reporting. Additionally, for the 27th year, the Town has earned the GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. This long-standing achievement demonstrates Collierville's ongoing commitment to transparency and excellence in fiscal responsibility.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was awarded for the Town’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), meeting the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the Town's financial story. The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award, achieved by consistently following GFOA’s best practices, reflects the Town's dedication to detailed, comprehensive budgeting that enables citizens to understand the finances of their local government.

“Receiving these awards year after year is a testament to the hard work of our finance team and the dedication of Collierville’s leadership to uphold fiscal responsibility,” said Valesa. “We will continue striving for financial excellence in our service to the community.”

The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program in 1945 to assist and encourage state and local governments to create financial statements that are easily readable and offer a wide variety of information useful in evaluating the financial condition of a government.
