Phillip Batts

Phillip Batts has been sworn in as the new police chief for the Dandridge Police Department. Batts was serving as the Jefferson County Department of Education’s transportation and safety supervisor before being selected to replace retiring Chief Carson Williams. Before going to work for the Jefferson County DOE in 2022, Batts accrued 17 years of experience in law enforcement both with the city of Dandridge Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, including time spent as a school resource officer.
