David Gray
David M. Gray has been selected as the new fire chief for the Gatlinburg Fire Department, taking over at the retirement of Chief Charlie Cole after 38 years of service. Gray presently serves as assistant chief and as a paramedic for the Knoxville Fire Department. During his work in Knoxville, Gray’s service has included management of emergency medical services, training programs, logistics, and public safety initiatives. Gray holds the Executive Fire Officer (EFO) designation from the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Md., and is Tennessee Fire Officer IV. An instructor for numerous state and national emergency medical and fire training programs, Gray earned an associate's degree in general technology from Roane State Community College, a bachelor's in applied organizational management from Tusculum University, and a master's in fire executive leadership and public administration from Columbia Southern University.
