Kingsport to make aquatic center upgrades

The Kingsport Aquatic Center will undergo $1.5 million in infrastructure upgrades and improvements to five pools, upgrades to the pump room, covers on all main drains, upgrades to both the indoor slide and splash pad, and updated paint and other improvements to the outdoor leisure pool and play structure. Work is slated to begin Sept. 8, 2026, after the summer season. Renovations will cause temporary closure of the facility with more updates available closure to the beginning of the upgrades.
