Jamie Isabel

Jamie Isabel, former Metro Nashville Councilman and business leader, died Aug. 10, 2026, at the age of 61. Isabel represented Nashville’s District 2 on the city council from 2003 to 2007 as well as established the Nashville City Council Black Caucus. He owned Nashville Threads, a retail shop at the Nashville International Airport that promoted custom apparel made by minority artisans since 2001. A native of Memphis, he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Tennessee State University in 1989. He also owned and operated the Dalmatian Creative Agency, a company specializing in corporate apparel, uniforms, and public affairs.
