Kelly McKinley will serve as the Tennessee Municipal League’s (TML) Director of Corporate Engagement and Member Benefits, transitioning to the role from her current position as Director of Digital Strategy.

McKinley began the new role on Sept. 1, 2026, and will be responsible for the leadership of TML’s corporate sponsorships, educational foundation, and member benefits program. She will also provide leadership for the execution of our annual conference expo, manage TML's relationship with our consulting firm First Light, and provide leadership to identify and secure higher-level sponsorship opportunities.

TML Executive Director Anthony Haynes said McKinley has proven herself as a problem solver, ambassador, hard worker and a very supportive team member.

"Kelly brings a high level of energy and passion for building financial support for TML and its efforts to help Tennessee’s towns and cities,” Haynes said. “Her background, especially in corporate customer relations, is a significant asset to advancing TML’s partnership with private companies and organizations."

McKinley said she is eager to enter this new role and continue to serve TML’s membership and sponsorship base.

“I have been given some incredible opportunities since joining the Tennessee Municipal League,” McKinley said. “Building relationships has always been one of the most rewarding parts of my work. Through TML, I have had the opportunity to travel across our state, spend time with municipal leaders, and work alongside organizations that share our commitment to supporting Tennessee communities.”

McKinley joined the TML staff in April 2025.  A native of south Georgia and a longtime resident of Gallatin, McKinley brings a strong background in digital strategy, public affairs, and nonprofit communications. Her career reflects a deep commitment to civic engagement and strategic storytelling.

Before joining TML, McKinley worked across multiple facets of government and communications, serving as Communications Director for State Senator Ferrell Haile and as Digital Director for former United Nations Ambassador Kelly Craft. She has also served on several nonprofit boards, contributed to the development of writing curriculum, and shared her insights through various online publications.
