Cade Sexton

Cade Sexton, a longtime public servant in Caryville and LaFollette, died Oct. 17, 2026, at the age of 90. A native of Caryville, earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Lincoln Memorial University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Tennessee. He served as mayor for the town of Caryville from 1982 to 1985 before resigning to become the city administrator of LaFollette in 1985. He served as as administrator of the city until 1998 and then served LaFollette again as its interim city administrator from 2011 to 2013. Sexton also held roles as a teacher, coach, in human services, and corporate consultant.
