The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced a $14 million investment in Tennessee’s power grid to tackle electricity costs, increased demand, and infrastructure need. The money will be used to strength the transmission system and build bulk power system transmission facilities that operate with greater efficiency and more transfer capacity. The state is also received $23 million through the DOE Grid Resilience Program, which will fund 13 projects across the state that provide the highest potential to reduce outages.
