James Lewellen
James Lewellen has been selected as a new municipal management consultant with the University of Tennessee's Municipal Technical Advisory Service’s (UT-MTAS) West Tennessee office. Lewellen comes to MTAS from Collierville, where he spent more than 25 years as town administrator. Serving in the role since 1995, Lewellen served under three mayors and oversaw the growth of the town in population, budget, and development. Before coming to Collierville, Lewellen was the director of the planning and development department for Southaven, Miss., and chief planner in the city of Germantown’s Department of Development. Lewellen holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s in public policy and public administration from Mississippi State University.
