Tennessee Municipal League holds district meetings

TML Deputy Director Chad Jenkins discusses upcoming legislative concerns during the Districts 2 and 3 meeting in Knoxville.

Municipal officials from across Tennessee have gathered for Tennessee Municipal League (TML) District meetings, discussing upcoming legislative issues as well as local and regional concerns.

TML officials discussed upcoming legislative priorities for the coming General Assembly session, including restoring the historic revenue-sharing relationship with the state.
Local issues of discussion also included opioid abatement, upcoming TDOT road projects, the new population estimates to be used for state-shared sales taxes, solid waste issues, and the future of the Tennessee Valley Authority. 

The District 1 meeting was held in Kingsport, the Districts 2 and 3 meeting was held in Knoxville, the District 4 meeting was held in Crossville, the Districts 5 and 6 meeting was held in Brentwood, and the Districts 7 and 8 meeting was held in Jackson. 

The Tennessee General Assembly reconvenes at noon on Jan. 13, 2026.
