Mark Wilbanks

Mark Wilbanks has retired as assistant chief of the Knoxville Fire Department after a 27-year career in the fire service. After serving as an active-duty member of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1991 to 1999. He worked his way up through the ranks of the department, including time as a health and safety officer, quality control officer, and master firefighter. Wilbanks also began serving as the department’s public information officer in 2022. He is also a certified critical care and hazmat specialist.
