Prysmian officials announced the company will expand its Jackson operations, creating 100 new jobs and investing $100 million to renovate and double the size of its present facility. This is the company’s second expansion in Jackson since it acquired General Cable in 2018. Prysmian expects the groundbreaking on facility improvements to begin in October with a 20-month construction schedule. Founded in the late 1800s, Prysmian has grown to become one of the world’s largest cable and fiber manufacturers. The company is headquartered in Milan, Italy, with its North American headquarters in Kentucky, and operates on six continents and in more than 50 countries
