Steven Spano
Steven Spano has been selected as the new police chief for Greeneville. Spano has been serving as interim chief since the retirement of Chief Tim Ward in April. Spano has been with the Greeneville Police Department since February 1994 when he was hired as an auxiliary officer. He worked for the Tusculum Police Department from 1995 to 1997 before being hired as a full-time patrol officer for the Greeneville Police Department in December 1997. He then moved up through the ranks as a patrol sergeant, patrol lieutenant, patrol captain, service captain, and detective captain. Spano holds an associate’s degree from Walters State Community College and has completed numerous training programs through TLEA, TACP, and MTAS.
