Scott Lamb

Scott Lamb has been selected as the new police chief of Newport by the city’s board of mayor and aldermen. Lamb will take over the role on Jan. 16, when Chief Maurice Shults retires. Lamb presently serves as a deputy chief of the department. He has been with the Newport Police Department for 25 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from East Tennessee State University.
