The town of Collierville has opened the expanded disc golf course at Hinton Park. Holes 10 through 18 of the course are now open for play after the expansion project began in May. The project was completed primarily by the dedicated Hinton Park grounds maintenance crew alongside their regular day-to-day duties. Despite an initial estimate of $320,000 for the project, the town managed to complete the expansion for approximately $41,000, staying well within the approved budget of $75,000. Cost savings were achieved through in-house labor and strategic cost management, making the new course a reality for the community at a fraction of the expected expense. Maintenance crew employees Marcquez Walker, Danial Wheatley, and Justin Kimble were aided by Collierville Public Works crew members for two half days to assist with the concrete installation. Hinton Park, dedicated in 2017, spans nearly 110 acres of natural beauty and open space, offering a range of recreational activities such as trails, fishing in a five-acre lake, and play areas. Known for its "king of the hill" mound, playgrounds, and now, 18-hole disc golf courses, the park attracts visitors seeking outdoor fun and tranquility.
