Kingsport wins water, wastewater facility awards

The city of Kingsport’s water and wastewater treatment plants have received national awards from the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA). is pleased to announce its Water and Wastewater treatment plants have received national awards in recognition of continued commitment to operational excellence. The city received the AWWA Director’s Award, marking the 15th the city has received the distinction for meeting or exceeding performance and water quality standards. The NACWA presented the city with the Silver Peak Performance Award, which is given to facilities with no more than five permit violations in a calendar year, highlighting the plant’s high standard of compliance and dedication to environmental protection.
