More than 1,200 Tennesseans are aged 100 or older
There are 1,256 centenarians living in Tennessee – putting approximately 1.82% of the state’s population over the age of 100, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. There were only about 80,000 centenarians in the U.S. in 2020 – 0.02% of the population – but the milestone is becoming more common. Tennessee only ranks 42 out of the 50 states in terms of the number of centenarians with Hawaii taking the top spot.
