Norm Sugarman

Norm Sugarman, former alderman for Kingston, died June 8, 2026, at the age of 90. A graduate of the Sewanee Military Academy, he served in the Tennessee Air National Guard’s 151st Fighter-Interceptor Squadron during the Berlin Crisis. Upon his return to the U.S. from Germany, he worked at the Oak Ridge X-10 and K-25 sites, retiring from the purchasing department after 35 years of service. During his retirement, he served as both a reserve police officer and on the Kingston City Council.
