Bristol's Nature Center recognized by American Alliance of Museums

The American Alliance of Museums (AAM) has recognized Bristol’s Nature Center at Steele Creek Park for meeting professional museum standards. The Nature Center has gained its Core Documents Verification, a milestone achieved by only 3% of museums nationwide and a step toward full AAM accreditation. These documents outline the Nature Center’s mission statement, code of ethics, strategic plan, emergency response plan, and collections management policy. The process toward full accreditation, which requires self-study and peer review, will begin in the coming weeks. If achieved, it will better position the Nature Center to collaborate in a variety of ways with other accredited museums nationwide.
