Walter Denton
Walter Denton has been selected as the new assistant city administrator for community and economic development for the city of Franklin. Denton is taking over from Vernon Gerth, who retired after 18 years of service. Denton has 33 years of local government experience, including 23 years as the city administrator for O’Fallon, Ill. His previous roles included serving as assistant city administrator for Cape Girardeau, Mo., and as state coordinator for the Koch Crime Commission based in Wichita, Kan. In addition to his extensive experience in local government, Denton served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where he taught graduate courses in the master’s in public administration program.
