Chattanooga breaks ground on One Westside second phase
Officials in Chattanooga broke ground on the second phase of the One Westside revitalization project, which will bring 144 new mixed-income units. Residents of College Hill Court will be given first choice to relocate to the area with the rest of the units offered at market-rate. The construction is expected to be completed in 2027. Part of a “build first” strategy, the overall One Westside project will ultimately provide more than 1,100 mixed-income homes, replacing 85-year-old public housing infrastructure and reconnecting the community. Located on 300 acres on the westside of downtown Chattanooga and within one mile of the riverfront, the seven-phase development in the College Hill neighborhood is part of a $50 million federal Choice Neighborhoods grant.
